The Great Bowel Movement was started in 2010 by two IBD patients determined to make a difference. Their mission from the beginning has been to foster conversations surrounding the complexities and realities of IBD, fueled by an empowered, active community of patients and caregivers. IBD patients hold a huge power and responsibility. By being able to look someone else in the eye and share their IBD truth, a educational moment is created and an increased awareness in the world follows. The Great Bowel Movement in an awareness movement supporting people with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, j-pouches and ostomies.
